Labor & Tests
We want to know. Before we package it.
Successful packaging solutions are not only functionally and aesthetically perfect but also provide maximum safety in terms of material and color. This ensures that no transfer of chemical components from the packaging material to the food or its contents occurs. We exclusively use low-odor and low-migration printing inks and continuously update them in close collaboration with the ink manufacturers.
For our clients, we also conduct analyses according to the current IFS standard (International Food Standard). The samples are examined chemically, microbiologically, physically, and sensorily. We recommend conducting the analyses at the start of the project and before packaging development.
Better taste neutral.
The Robinson test evaluates packaging materials for sensitive foods for odor and taste neutrality according to DIN EN 1230-2. This test is regularly conducted in our laboratory.
The printed packaging material is hermetically sealed with the test food in jars. After a precisely defined period, the taste test is performed by an internally assembled testing group.
Guaranteed smudge-proof.
The abrasion test is conducted to determine the smudge and abrasion resistance in a flat form—for example, for printed paper or cardboard. This allows us to precisely ascertain whether the used lacquer or ink is "smudge-proof" or if it rubs off during further processing.
Abrasion tests are also used in cases of complaints involving scratches or smudges. This enables us to determine whether defective raw materials were used. Sometimes, orders involving UV inks and UV lacquers are also tested to see if the ink has been sufficiently UV-dried.
